At one point, Indian Gap had a post office, bank, hotel, 3 stores, saloon, blacksmith, gin, barber shop, school, church, and a weekly newspaper, The Arrow. When railroads went in they bypassed this area and sadly began the demise of Indian Gap with it becoming a ghost town by 1970. Some structures still remain.
