A Look Back on 15 Years in Real Estate

As I begin my 15th year in real estate, I find myself reflecting on some of the fondest memories I've made along the way. When I first started, I never imagined just how much my clients would shape my life and experiences. From couples just starting out, to families downsizing, and even those with eight adorable children—each story has been a reminder of why I love what I do.
There are the clients with large, bustling households, and those flying solo—each one has taught me something new. I’ve had the joy of working with "framily" (clients who became more like family), and strangers who, over time, became lifelong friends.
And of course, there are the unforgettable moments—like the time I helped a client who raised llamas, or the one with five dogs and pot-bellied pigs. Real estate has brought me into the lives of so many unique and wonderful people, and I truly cherish these moments.
One of my first clients was a huge family, about 15 people, who had just moved to Texas from Vietnam. Only one person spoke English, and they hadn’t been here long. We were touring a home—people everywhere—and when it was time to leave, I double-checked to make sure everyone was out. Everyone nodded that they were all accounted for, so I locked the door, and we walked away.
Then we heard a knocking sound. We looked at each other, puzzled, only to realize that grandma had been locked inside the house! We all burst into laughter. In that moment, I felt like a failure—I couldn’t even show a home properly. But the family was so kind and understanding, and that little incident sparked a friendship that’s lasted to this day.
That experience taught me an important lesson early on: Things happen, and it's okay to make mistakes. What matters is standing up, taking responsibility, fixing the issue, and maybe laughing at yourself along the way.
If you are ever looking for a non-perfect Real Estate Agent, I would love to meet you. Some of my best friends started out as strangers.
Looking back, it's clear that real estate isn’t just about selling homes—it's about the connections, the lessons, and the people I meet along the way. My journey has been filled with unexpected moments, growth, and friendships I never imagined. I am beyond grateful for the trust my clients have placed in me over the years, and I look forward to the many more stories that are yet to come.
