So today I’m sharing my Top 3 Tex-Mex restaurants in Montgomery—and yes, this list comes with a little personal experience 😉

🥇 Big Sombrero Mexican Restaurant

Alright, I’m just going to say it…this is our go-to.

More often than not, John and I end up at Big Sombrero—and honestly, it never disappoints.

Why we love it:

  • That salsa? 🔥 (you know the kind where you keep saying “just one more chip”)
  • Consistently great food
  • Friendly, reliable service
  • Lunch pricing 7 days a week until 5PM (yes please 🙌)

My favorite:

Mando’s Special
👉 A tamale, cheese enchilada, and chicken flauta

What’s not to love?! I almost always end up taking some home for lunch the next day.

John’s pick:

Tacos Al Carbon
Simple, flavorful, and always a win.

La Palma is one of those places that locals have loved for years—and once you go, you’ll understand why.

What stands out:

  • Generous portions
  • Classic Tex-Mex flavors done right
  • Cozy, welcoming atmosphere

Their enchiladas and fajitas are always solid, and it’s a great go-to when you’re craving that comfort-food Tex-Mex.

🥉 Hacienda Mis Padres Mexican Grill

Now this one brings a totally different vibe—and I love it for that.

Why it made the list:

  • Bright, cheerful atmosphere ☀️
  • Great place to meet friends or family
  • Fajitas that absolutely deliver 🔥

If you’re in the mood for something a little more lively with bold flavors, this is your spot.
